Ingredients
  

  • 4 chicken breasts about 600 g
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • Juice of 1 large lemon ≈ 2–3 tbsp
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Oven – To bake the chicken breasts evenly.
  • Baking dish or sheet pan – To place the chicken in while baking.
  • Mixing bowl – For preparing the marinade (olive oil, lemon, garlic, spices).
  • Whisk or spoon – To mix the marinade well.
  • Measuring spoons & cups – To ensure accurate amounts of oil, spices, and lemon juice.
  • Cutting board – For prepping the garlic and parsley.
  • Sharp knife – To mince garlic, chop parsley, and trim chicken if needed.
  • Tongs or spatula – To handle the chicken breasts safely.

Method
 

  1. Preheat & prepare
  2. Preheat your oven to 200°C (≈ 400°F). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. Marinate the chicken
  4. In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Place chicken breasts in the bowl or a zip-top bag. Coat well with the marinade. Let sit for 10–15 minutes (or longer if you have time) to soak up flavor.
  6. Bake
  7. Transfer chicken breasts to the baking dish. Pour any leftover marinade over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature ~75°C / 165°F). If the top starts to brown too much, cover loosely with foil.
  9. Rest & serve
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes to retain juices.
  11. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
